Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Lamb
- 1 lb Ground Beef, lean
- ½ cup Parsley, minced
- ¼ cup Oregano, minced
- 2 teaspoon Greek Seasoning, + more as needed
- 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
- ½ cup Feta Cheese, crumbled
- Zest of 1 Lemon
- Red Pepper Flakes, a couple shakes, or as spicy as you like it
For Serving
- Cucumber, sliced
- Tomato, sliced
- Red Onion, sliced
- Tzatziki Sauce
- Pita or Naan Bread, warmed
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the ground lamb and beef with, parsley, oregano, greek seasoning, salt, pepper, feta cheese, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix with your hands until everything is evenly disbursed.
- Form the meat mixture into 6 even balls. To shape the burgers so they fit perfectly into a piece of pita bread, flatten them and shape into even ovals, about the full size of your hand. They will plump a bit when cooked, so go ahead and get them really nice and flat.
- Preheat your grill, inside or out to medium heat. Cook the burgers for about 5 minutes on each side, until well browned and they have reached your desired doneness. The patties can also be cooked in a skillet on the stove.
- Serve burgers on a piece of pita bread, topped with Tzatziki, cucumber, tomato, and red onion if desired.
